How to Take Your Body Measurements (With a Helper)
For the best results, have someone help you take your measurements. Use a soft measuring tape, wear fitted clothing, and stand in good lighting.
What You'll Need
- Soft measuring tape
- Mirror
- A helper (friend, family member, or tailor)
- Good lighting
Measurement Guide
| # | Measurement | How to Measure |

| 1 | Bust | Around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape horizontal. |
| 2 | Waist | Around your natural waist — the narrowest part of your torso. |
| 3 | Hips | Around the fullest part of your hips and seat, feet together. |
| 4 | Shoulder Width | Across the back, from one shoulder point to the other. |
| 5 | Back Length | From the base of the neck down to the natural waist. |
| 6 | Arm Length | From the shoulder point to the wrist with a slightly bent arm. |
| 7 | Upper Arm | Around the widest part of the bicep area. |
| 8 | Inseam | From the crotch to the ankle bone (for pants). |
| 9 | Outseam | From the natural waist to the floor along the side of the leg. |
| 10 | Height | Standing straight, without shoes, from floor to top of head. |
Tips
- Keep the tape snug, but not tight — it should lie flat against the body.
- Double-check each measurement for accuracy.
- When in doubt, round up.
